Central Union's (KEDKE) strategic approach to the Information Society
KEDKE launched in 2004 a major Information Society project with multiple
goals aiming at:
a. the formulation of an innovative strategy for e-local government and e-local
development coupled with the preparation of a concrete action plan for the
successful implementation of Information Society initiatives at the local and regional
level.
b. the effective and efficient use of available funding opportunities from the 3rd CSF.
c. the local authorities' active participation in the design and implementation of the
4th CSF.
c. the precise identification of KEDKE's role both as a catalyst and as a coordinator/
supporter for the successful implementation of a great number of various IS
initiatives at the local level
One year later, based on detailed and well documented analysis- in collaboration with
the Research Group for the Technical, Economic and Strategic Analysis of
Information Society of the National technical University of Athens (NTUA) and the
Information Education and Local Development S.A (PETA) - KEDKE is proposing
both to the European authorities and the Greek government a clear
roadmap for the local authorities in the Information Society.
